We know that school garden lessons are one of the most effective ways in getting children to try new fruits and vegetables and eat healthy.
Therefore, one of our main focuses is our school garden program.
Our involvement with school gardens has included:
- Offering hands-on garden education sessions
- Helping to build and maintain the gardens
- Getting fresh produce into cafeteria and classroom snacks
- Teaching garden-based science lessons that connect to the curriculum
- Doing taste tests with children
- Collaborating with after-school and recess programs
- Raising and acquiring funds to keep the programs running
