A Successful Seeds for Success

We would like to give a huge thank you to the People’s Food Co-op customers that rounded up their change this spring to contribute to Seeds for Success days.

We had our first Seeds for Success day and children from New Horizons and Bluff Country Family Resources attended camp for free.  These children started at Grow La Crosse’s farm site, Deep Roots Community Farm.  Here they enjoyed time playing in the creek, going for a short hike, holding chickens, and spending more time with the horses.  Then, they headed to the People’s Food Coop for some healthy snacks and shopping activities.  It was a great day!

Volunteer with Grow

WisCorps volunteers at our new Gundersen garden.

Do you enjoy being outside or working in a garden? Come join us and do both this summer. There are still more garden projects to complete this summer and we are always in need of volunteers! This is the perfect time to get work done as the weather for gardening is most favorable. Volunteer with any of our 4 schools: Spence, Hamilton/SOTA 1, State Road, or Hintgen. You can also volunteer with our new school or daycare: Gundersen Childcare Center and La Crescent-Hokah Elementary. Get involved with Grow and help connect more children to healthy food and nature!
