11.9.2023 Environmental Educators Conference • Volunteer Shout-Out

Midwest Environmental Educators Conference

There were over 300 environmental educators gathered in the Coulee Region last week to learn and share ways to enhance environmental education.  We were fortunate to be asked to present to a group looking to learn more about garden-based education.  We shared a bit of GROW’s history, along with how the structure of our partnerships offers sustainability for school garden programming.  Then we treated attendees to a taste test demonstration and their own rainbow garden salad.

We also attended other educational seminars at the conference.  It was exciting to learn more about pollinator programs and resources available. As we are currently developing a pollinator curriculum and enhancing the pollinator patches at our school garden sites.

The conference was a wonderful opportunity to lead and learn.

Volunteer Shout-out!

Special thanks to all of the people who have volunteered time and energy to help reach our mission this year.  So far in 2023 volunteers have donated over 1,800 hours! Interns, community volunteers, and work groups we could not reach so many students without your help.  Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the youth we serve.
Make a positive impact today by supporting garden-based learning.
