| The Great GROW Get Together was a success Thank you to all who came out to help us celebrate 10 years GROWing together at the Great GROW Get Together! There is so much to celebrate when we connect youth to healthy food and nature. The food and volunteers at the Great GROW Get Together were amazing! We want to express a huge “Thank You!” to each of the people who helped pull off this event. A special thanks to the team from Performance Food Group / Reinhart Food Services for sharing so much time and talent to plan, prepare and serve fantastic food and make sure we had enough help to run all areas of the event. We were delighted to be able to highlight the culinary talents of two of our past Kids Cooking Challenge winners, Juliana and Lynley Dunn. These young chefs can not only cook, they are excellent public speakers. They did a great job sharing their experiences participating in past GROW events with the crowd. Josh Rabie and Russell Pedersen did a wonderful job setting the tone of the event by sharing their talent to combine fiddle and banjo traditions into a unique blend of thundering instrumentals and original music. They made beautiful harmonies honed in coulee country blanket a spread of down-home songs about the Midwest. Coulee Bicycle Co generously donated an eBike to raise funds to support GROW’s garden based educational programs. Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket your contributions will make an impact. Congratulations to Todd Trautmann, the winner of the eBike raffle! Reflecting on the wonderful time we had at the Great GROW Get Together last week we just want to express our gratitude to our community of supporters. We are thankful for the many local businesses who donated items for the silent auction, the event sponsors who donated funds, brought food, volunteers, & games, our interns, staff and board who worked to make sure the event was enjoyable and reflective of our mission and of course to the community members who came out to help us celebrate 10 years of GROWing together. We are fortunate to be able to do this important work because of the community who sees the value and shows up to support the cause. Thank you! |
