Anne Seehafer, Executive Director for Grow La Crosse

New Executive Director and Board Members

We are excited to announce Grow La Crosse hired Anne Seehafer as their first Executive Director in January.   As co-founder and past president of the board, Anne has been with Grow La Crosse since its inception and been instrumental in making Grow La Crosse what it is today.

The board also welcomes Katie Berkedal as the new president. Katie has been with Grow La Crosse for several years and previously served as vice president.  She has been the driving force behind our amazing silent auction at our Fall Festival on the Farm event and is currently the head of our grants committee.

Jenny Klein was elected as our new vice president.  Jenny volunteered on a Grow La Crosse committee before joining the board in 2015.   As a professor of biology she has been instrumental in the development of curriculum connected science lessons for use on the farm and in the school gardens and is an active member of our grants committee.

As a physician, Abigail Stockham sees first hand how healthy eating and nature impact the wellness of our community!  She has served as secretary for the past year and we are happy to say she will remain secretary.

Karissa Kostka lends her expertise in social media marketing to the board and has provided a great deal of insight to our board in this area.  We are grateful to have her and appreciate her work as treasurer.

Winter Inspired on the Farm

Winter campJoin us for an afternoon of fun and education on the farm! We will explore the farm in the winter, learn about the biology of the natural world on a farm, in particular how animals adapt to the cold weather, and enjoy free time in our beautiful rural setting. In this session, additional focus will be given to learning how to interact gently and respectfully with the horses, chickens and pigs, and we’ll of course make some awesome winter-themed art!

All programming is led by Ana Skemp, M.S. Ecology, owner of Deep Roots Community Farm and Jeni Blake, artist and owner of Inspired.
