Edible Schoolyard Progress Report

Big steps are happening! We are looking forward to making progress on the Edible Schoolyard with the help of volunteers from SAP, Systems, Applications, and Products, of La Crosse.

On October 24th, students will join with the volunteers for a planting day. The work to be done will be to complete section four.  Students and volunteers will be installing the fruiting trees, bushes, and education space.

Thank you to our Edible Schoolyard Committee making this possible!
Thank you to our partners New Ground & Coulee Region Ecoscapes:

New Ground will be helping through their SOAK IT UP project with ensuring wastewater is being best managed to prevent unnecessary run-off.

Coulee Region Ecoscapes donated the design.

GROW’s Reach

This fall our organization has reached over 1,500 students through September lessons!

The second round of lessons are now in full swing. Students will be exploring all sorts of tiny critters in the school gardens. The older classes, such as 4th and 5th graders, will get to delve further into the topic while learning about pollinators.

Farm Events & Hoop House

Thank you to those who attended this past weekend’s events. We had a great turn out, more than 50 people in attendance. And, the hoop house now has sides! We appreciate all the hard work that has been put into this project. On October 22nd, we will have students from Western Technical College joining us to help with the last final touches.
