8.17.2021 New Board Members • Final Open Garden Events
You are Invited to The Great GROW Get Together Friday, September 10th, 5 to 10 pm Pearl Street Brewery Mark your calendar! On September 10th we will be hosting the first ever Great GROW Get Together at Pearl Street Brewery from 5 to 10 pm. This event will be a celebration of seed to table education through school garden, greenhouse and farm camp programming. It will also be our biggest fundraiser of the year. Plan on taking part in the silent auction, raffles and family friendly carnival style games all while enjoying all that Pearl Street Brewery has to offer. One dollar from every pint sold will go directly to GROW programming. There will also be live music by Flibbertigibbet and Flat Head Steve’s Food Truck and Ice Cold Refreshments dessert truck to keep you entertained and well fed. All proceeds raised during this event will support garden programming for the 2021-22 school year. We anticipate connecting with over 2000 children in the Coulee Region throughout the upcoming school year. You can be a part of ensuring the youth we connect to healthy food and nature receive the high quality programming GROW has become regionally recognized for by supporting this event. Can’t Make It? Donate! We have amazing silent auction items coming in! Contact mikla.brooke@uwlax.edu if you have anything you’d like to donate to the event. Welcome New Board Members GROW has a group of volunteer board members who oversee our mission and work. Some of our board members have been with the organization nearly since the building of our first garden, while others have joined more recently. Over the summer we have welcomed four new board members: Liza Ware, Ester Tierney, Anna Olson and Caitlin Hanney. Each of these individuals brings their own unique background and perspective to help us thrive as an organization. All of our board members share a passion for garden education and quality experiences in nature to help guide youth in living a healthy life. You can read more about the background of each of these individuals as well as why they have chosen to donate their time and talents to GROW’s mission by reading their bios on our website.
