GROW Farm Days
Join us this weekend for all of our FREE farm day events! Each event will be held at Deep Roots Community Farm.
— Fall Mushroom Walk on the Farm —

A family-friendly GROW community day focused on fungus! Sabrina Aspenson of UW-L will lead us on a trek through the woods and pastures to look for a number of different species of fungi, both edible and non-edible.
— Drawing and Nature Journaling on the Farm —
Sunday, October 13th

Join Laurie Stiers of HerbsAllAround for a class focused on drawing plants and nature journaling. Laurie has a wealth of information about botany and common uses of plants. Our hope is that you will love the process and start a nature journal that you will return to throughout the seasons!
* Please bring a sketchbook or art materials if you already have, but we’ll have plenty available to share as well.

This class is designed for parents and their little ones (up to age 7). We will have time for outdoor play and exploration, a nature craft, and a story.

Hoop House Volunteer Day
We need your help to finish building the hoop house.
Sunday, October 13th

State Road Elementary School
3900 Pammel Creek, La Crosse, WI 54601
We need help securing the plastic to the sides of the hoop house and installing the roll up sides. No experience is necessary. Please bring a water bottle and dress for the weather. The school building will not be open during this event.
Volunteer Appreciation Day
This past Tuesday evening, we celebrated our volunteers with a Volunteer Appreciation Garden Party! We want to thank you for all the efforts and time. Our organization could not be here without you.
The evening included snacks, door prizes, and great conversation. We hope that all of our volunteers always feel as though their work is appreciated!
