Permaculture Area

Jill Castro helps layout the new permaculture section.

We are adding a permaculture section at State Road Elementary School due to the inspiration of the Food Forest at the local La Crosse YMCA being put in by  Coulee Region EcoScapes.   Permaculture is developing sustainable and self-sufficient agricultural ecosystems.  We will start with raspberries and ground cherries, since those are favorites of the students, but we also will add herbs, wild flowers and other edibles.

You can help!  Let us know if you have edible bush cuttings or native flower seeds to donate.  We will be starting to design and construct some of the permaculture area this Friday, April 15th from 10:00-12:00 at State Road School.  Please contact jamie@growlacrosse.org  if you are interested in helping.
