Our Celebrity

IMG_0100Children’s health is in the news.

Ana Skemp, Grow La Crosse’s Program Director of Farm Experiences, is featured in the newest edition of Seven.   Seven describes Ana’s dedication to improving children’s health and wellbeing.  Not many can say they encourage more than 1,000 children a year to spend hours in the great outdoors.  See article.

First lady Michelle Obama also is in the news.  Watch Michelle as she encourage school gardens in the U.S.  Watch video.

Change in School Location

Grow La Crosse was informed by the Coulee Montessori Charter School PTO that their elementary program may be relocating next year.  They believe it is very likely to happen and sent us this message: Very unfortunately, we do not think it is possible for us partner with Grow La Crosse for next year.

Grow La Crosse gave great consideration to moving forward with the project, but did not feel the programming would be sustainable without further planning and have put our garden plans for the Northside campus on hold.
Northside school will move forward with a container garden this spring using grant funding awarded to the La Crosse County Public Health Department.
