Spring has Sprung
New School Sample Lessons
Lessons with Caroline
GROW is offering free nutrition and garden based lessons to interested classrooms at Northside and Emerson Elementary Schools. Students participated in a “six plant parts” taste test and planted window sill herb gardens while learning about My Plate and healthy food choices.
Next up, students will taste test various herbs and spices and learn about locally grown fruits and vegetables. These lessons were made possible through a partnership with the AmeriCorps Farm to School Program and funding from the La Crosse Community Foundation.

Hoop House Fundraiser
Due to the heavy ice storms and snow fall this winter, our hoop house at State Road elementary has collapsed and is in need of big repairs. Luckily, we’ve had many wonderful volunteers help to take down the broken structure, but now we need funding and workforce aide to help move this project forward!
GROW La Crosse and the La Crosse Distilling Co. are excited to present the Hoop House Fundraiser at La Crosse Distilling Co..
Join us on Monday, April 29 from 11am to 11pm to raise money for the hoop house rebuild.
When you dine at the La Crosse Distilling Co. on April 29th, 10% of sales will be donated to the project and will take us closer to restoring this outdoor classroom for the State Road students. Our hoop house serves to lengthen the growing season for our teaching garden as well as a protected outdoor classroom to increase frequency of classes learning outdoors!
You’ll get an entry to win great prizes from Driftless Axe, Waterfront Restaurant, Noelke Wine Distributors, Mayo Clinic Health System, as well as from the La Crosse Distilling Co., just for showing up![
