Last week, GROW wrapped up our garden lessons for 2019!
During the caring work lesson students at La Crescent-Hokah Elementary school harvested dried beans, planted garlic for the spring, and then covered the freshly planted garlic with straw to provide insulation over the winter. Mrs. Riess’s 3rd grade classroom with Ms. Susan in the school garden.

On Tuesday, December 3rd, the global generosity movement, GivingTuesday, made an impact on GROW.
We want to extend our appreciation for the donations we received through GivingTuesday. GROW was able to raise $1,553 to connect children with healthy food and nature because we have great supporters.

Meet the next great intern this fall semester, Emalie!
Emalie is a Nutrition & Outdoor Educator Intern. She spends her time at La Cresent-Hokah Elementary School helping lead the school garden lessons, as well as taking care of the gardens when needed. Emalie would love to teach her own garden lessons someday.
