La Crosse Reads Program – Climate Change Kids
Saturday, March 10 at 1 pm
La Crosse Library – Main, Children’s Room
How can we best connect children to the earth that we want them to help repair? Grow LaCrosse will share their tips to getting children interested and on board with helping reverse climate change. See examples of our mini science lessons plant a seed in young minds during farm camps and school garden classes. We hope our mini science lessons plant a seed in young minds that will encourage them to love nature and empower some of them to be the next generation of naturalists and scientists who will be in charge of healing and protecting our world’s environment.

La Crosse Reads Program – Project Think Tank

Main La Crosse Public Library (basement auditorium)
Help us develop community projects that can focus in on community resilience here in La Crosse. Join community leaders like Grow La Crosse and other organizations to develop projects based on the needs and ideas spun from the Resilience Symposium in November. If you
were unable to attend, no problem! We simply review and layout the ideas that came from the symposium and then allow time to build on those ideas.
La Crosse Reads Program – Teaching Resilience through School Gardens
Sunday, May 20th at 3 pm
Location: Grow Hamilton Garden, 807 Johnson Street.
Take a tour of a local school garden. Grow La Crosse will touch on important ways to keep children in the resilience conversation. This will touch on ideas for storm water conservation, reducing risks to pollinators and local soil and food efforts.
