Wisconsin School Garden Network Partnership
The Wisconsin School Garden Network proudly supports Wisconsin’s school garden movement by serving new and existing youth gardens at schools, community and education centers, early care and education sites, and after-school sites. They provide school garden leaders and educators from around the state with freeresources, funding opportunities, workshops, and one-on-one technical support. They also create and support opportunities for garden-based educators to connect with each other and share ideas and stories. Wisconsin School Garden Network’s primary purpose is to improve the health and wellbeing for all Wisconsin children through garden-based learning by creating a place where educators, parents, and students from all cultures and socio-economic spheres can find resources that address their community’s specific needs.
In 2017, GROW’s Executive Director, Jamie O’Neill, took on the role of Wisconsin School Garden Network’s Southwest Regional Coordinator. Through this partnership, Jamie hosts local training and networking opportunities for and helps to connect garden-based educators and supporters and as the network’s local point of contact.
GROW really cherishes this relationship with the Wisconsin School Garden Network because we are both in the business of educating young people about gardening. We both think its important that children of all backgrounds are able to participate in garden lessons. This partnership allows GROW to expand our network and become a resource for schools outside La Crosse.
