Fall Picnic on the Farm Recap

Fall Picnic on the Farm was a huge success! Thank you to Taco Town and all who could come out. Kids enjoyed learning all about farm animals, planting their own seeds, and helping paint some murals. Families enjoyed having a picnic while listening to music and learning more about how to volunteer with Grow. Everyone has a place in the garden, from big to small jobs! If you would like to volunteer with Grow or receive any information about what it entails, you can email us at info@growlacrosse.org or message us through our Facebook here!

Rainy Day Garden Lessons

Despite the rainy weather all week, first grade students at State Road Elementary were able to complete their garden lessons inside. Students enjoyed learning about the process of food preservation and how to pickle vegetables. The pickled veggie taste test was the students favorite part of the lesson, almost all of the kids went back for a second helping!

In addition, during a brief break in the rain, the preschool class of State Road was introduced to the school garden for the first time. We are excited to start working with these preschoolers to teach them what a garden is and what grows in them.
