Upcoming Events at the Garden
Wilderness Explorers
This past week State Road Elementary hosted the Wilderness Explorers camp for children in grades 1-3. The kids had a blast growing new plants in the garden while learning about different pollinators and insects. GROW La Crosse’s summer intern Marlana Lamar also had the opportunity to teach for a day. Her lesson, “Meet my friend, Herb!” gave kids an introduction to all kinds of herbs like sage, parsley, basil and more. The students hunted for the plants in the garden and got to sample them when they were found. They also had the opportunity to plant a personal wilderness explorers herb garden next to the hoop house!

Seeds for Success Dinner
Seeds for Success is right around the corner! Our collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club and People’s Food Co-op gives children a chance to cook up their own healthy meals during the full-week program. Seeds for Success will host a dinner on this Thursday. If you are interested in attending, please contact jamie@growlacrosse.org.
Summer Volunteers
We are always looking for volunteers to help out in our local gardens! Whether it is planting, watering or harvesting, all help is appreciated. Volunteering is a great way to spend some time getting your hands dirty and meeting new people. If you are interested in lending a helping hand at one of the gardens this summer more information can be found below:
