3.4.2021 Annual Report

2020 Annual Report

Our 2020 Annual Report is ready for your review.  It was quite the year, yet we managed to find many creative ways to safely connect children to healthy food and nature.  We are looking forward to the opportunities the future brings. We will use the momentum built through the challenges and successes of the past to develop innovative, high-quality, high-impact programs as we move forward.  Click the image below to view the full report.

One More Week to Register For The Spring Kids Cooking Challenge

Are you ready for a challenge?  As a result of the popularity of our fall challenge and at the request of many of our fall participants we are holding a spring Kids Cooking Challenge!  Everyone wins when kids cook with fresh and healthy ingredients.  Sign up your young chef or family team today to ensure your mystery bag of ingredients and your place in the challenge.

Can You Sponsor a Young Chef?

The Kids Cooking Challenge is a free event.  We do this, so that all children are able to participate.  However, we do need to fundraise to help support this fun, hands-on learning experience.  Just $15 covers the cost for one child to participate.  Are you able to help us provide this opportunity for children to get creative with healthy ingredients?  Simply follow this link to donate.  Your support truly makes a difference.

If you are a Thrivent member your Action Team would allow more than 16 children this experience.  Please contact bonnie@growlacrosse.org if you have an Action Team you would be willing to donate to the Kids Cooking Challenge.

Intern Highlight

Meet Lila one of our Nutrition and Sustainability Education interns for the spring semester.

Hello! My name is Lila Tully, and I am from Genoa, WI. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse studying Public Health and Community Health Education with a minor in Nutrition. I am a strong believer in the power of both health and knowledge, which is why my position as a Nutrition/Sustainability Educator Intern with GROW is a perfect fit for me! One goal of mine is to plan at least one nutrition lesson and one community health lesson for the students. My favorite fruit is strawberries, and my favorite vegetables are potatoes and broccoli. I am so excited to encourage and educate students about nutrition, sustainability, and overall wellness with GROW!

Welcome, Lila!  We are excited to have you on the GROW team.
