Insect Event was a Blast!
Thank you to all who attended our insect event! About 50 people of all ages made it out to the Deep Roots Community Farm for a day of insects and learning. UWL Biology Professor Barrett Klein led the group in gently catching their own insects to study. The kids enjoyed running around the open field with nets and magnifying glass to discover what types of insects were hiding in the grass. Klein then took the time to identify and give fun facts about the bugs the kids collected. The event ended with the children drawing their own pictures of the insects they collected.
