Field Trips Launch

Last week we were able to launch our field trip pilot program with a group of students from the Coulee Montessori Adolescent Program through grant funding. Field trips to our greenhouse provide students with the opportunity to learn about hydroponic growing systems, microgreens, potted plants, compost, water systems and how a greenhouse operates. Students also have the opportunity to explore some of the things on the Western Technical College campus, such as the living green wall and a cow stimulation activity. We are looking forward to having more classrooms come to the greenhouse to experience hands-on learning in a new environment.
2021 Annual Report

This past year brought challenges and successes.  We looked to the future as we dug into the creation of a strategic plan to carry our mission forward.  We were able to meet students in-person in their school gardens. We hired new staff and developed new programming.  There were events that brought fresh, healthy ingredients into the homes of our students and that brought families into the gardens. The farm welcomed camp participants back to learn about the science of how food is produced while immersed in farm life.  We celebrated earth to table education at the Great GROW Get Together.  In unpredictable times our organization was able to thrive.

Welcome Spring Interns

We would like to give a warm welcome to our spring interns. Over the past month they have put a lot of hard work into getting the greenhouse ready for the launch of our field trips. We are excited to have them on board this spring working with us on the Spring Kids Cooking Challenge, the plant sale, spring garden lessons, and to be apart of our greenhouse field trips.
