New event!

Grow La Crosse is excited to announce our new school garden fundraising event; Growing Generosity. We will be in the spirit of celebrating healthy food and nature for the benefit of our local children. There will be numerous food stations offering a variety of delicious dinner courses, desserts, a cash bar and a few activities that you could do in heels. Wait, heels? Yes, you read that correctly! This is a gala so feel free to dress it up and enjoy a night out without the children.

Tickets are $50/person or $350 for 8 tickets. Only 200 tickets available.

Schedule:

6-7PM – Social, Drinks and Food Station

7-8PM – Food Stations and a Heartwarming Video from GROW

8-9PM – Raffles

Coulee Region Ecoscapes

NEW PROJECT– Grow is excited to announce that we will be working with Coulee Region Ecoscapes, LLC on the design and installation of the Hamilton/SOTA I Edible Schoolyard. The Edible Schoolyard will be designed to serve as an educational platform, to provide a “soft landing” that promotes wellness and reduces stress, to improve ecological health and increase biodiversity, and to grow food locally.

The Community Input session offered a lot of good advice.

We discussed:

  • goals of the space
  • student traffic
  • best plants and features for each area

Coulee Region Ecoscapes will make a draft of the layout.  If you have advice that you were not able to give during the input session, feel free to email me at jamie@growlacrosse.org with the subject line: Edible Schoolyard.
